Music Skills for Juniors is designed for junior high school classes and provides a varied and engaging course of learning in:
- Performance
- Composition
- Ear Training
- Music Technology (use of DAWs and Notation software)
- Improvisation
- Music Theory
- Conducting
- Analysis
- Study of context
These skills are developed within units based around different genres:
- Rock
- Latin
- Classical
- Jazz
- Pop and Songwriting
- Music Technology
Each unit is made up of five ‘lessons’ but some lessons have enough content in them to take several classes.
In this resource you get 30 lessons which includes over 40 videos that have been produced so teachers have guidance on how to deliver the lessons, or for giving to the students to work through in their own time. This is useful for multi-level classes, distance learning, lockdown learning and when students are away from class.
Also included are 12 ‘classroom orchestra’ arrangements of popular music. These arrangements are adaptable for the musicians in your class as Sibelius, Musescore, pdf and XML files are provided. Your students will have a great time learning to perform together on popular music.
There is enough material in this resource to last a typical junior high school class a full year.
